The Bishop Flaget Trail is sponsored by the Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Lincoln Heritage Council. The Trail includes a short hike and camping for Scouts. The 2025 Flaget Trail is the 79th anniversary of the event. On the weekend of August 15,16,17, 2025, we will visit a familiar site in the Holy Land of Kentucky, The Abbey of Gethsemani. The Abbey of Gethsemani is a school of the Lord’s service, a training ground for brotherly love. Following Christ under a rule and an abbot, the Trappist monks lead lives of prayer, work, and sacred reading, steeped in the heart and mystery of the Church. The Abbey is a monastery in the Order of the Cistercians of the Strict Observance (OCSO), part of the body of the Roman Catholic Church.
