2015 BISHOP FLAGET TRAIL
The Bishop Flaget Trail is sponsored by the Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Lincoln Heritage Council. The
Trail includes a short hike and camping for Scouts. The 2015 Flaget Trail is the 69th anniversary of the event. On the
weekend of August 21, 22, 23, 2015, we will visit a familiar site in Southern Indiana, Mount. St. Francis Center for
Spirituality and Sanctuary, You can learn more about them at their web site: http://mountsaintfrancis.org
We do not have advance registration, however, to help with planning, we ask that you call one of the numbers below or
email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, with your best “guesstimate” of the number of possible attendees from your unit.
After the trail, an afternoon of fun activities is planned for those who chose to participate. Adult Counselor Training will
be offered for both Ad Altare Dei ,Pope Pius XII as well as Religious Emblems Coordinator at 2:30 p.m.
We are looking forward to seeing all participants. We especially invite all Cub Scout units and families to participate, as
this will make an excellent summertime family activity. Girl Scouts, American Heritage Girls and families are welcome to
participate in the trail on Saturday morning. Please take into consideration the time to travel to the Sanctuary. It takes
approximately 30 minutes from the Ky. Fair and Expo Center to the Sanctuary. Day hikers should arrive by 8:30am
Louisville time. (Please plan accordingly)
ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER and all Scout Units MUST file a Tour and Activity Plan.
The Flaget Trail is not limited to Catholic units or boys; many units are represented that are sponsored by churches or
institutions which are not Catholic, but wish to participate in a day visiting a special area of unusual interest. Nondenominational
services are held at camp if desired. We welcome all Scouts, leaders, and families. For more
information, please contact: Tom McGrew (502) 969-3070, or Charlie Hulsman at (502) 361-9813. You can also check
